This award is given to those who show an excellence in understanding the many facets of design and show exemplary skill in critical and creative "outside of the box" thinking in professional practice.  

Ain Shams merit Award (City planning)

This award was given to the team of specialists sent to Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt to help with the redesign of the city of Luxor after the excavation of the Avenue of Sphinxes, between the temples of Karnak and Luxor, displaced a portion of the population.  This award was given by the former president of Egypt.
